<p><strong>LARGO</strong></p><p>Alexis M. Davis lived the first 28 years of her life without setting foot in a jail. Twenty-five years later, she&#39;s becoming the first woman in Pinellas County to lead one. Sheriff Jim Coats will promote Davis from captain to major Sept. 28, overseeing the county&#39;s Detention and Corrections Bureau. She replaces the retiring 29-year veteran Maj. Kirk P. Brunner.</p>
